Yahoo voice is pure garbage - bad quality and they when they charge you a higher rate there is no way you can do anything about it. I can't even log into my yahoo voice account - changed my password twice but the log in page keeps giving me stupid adds.

I'll stick with google voice and skype.

I've been using Yahoo Voice for a few months now and have some issues. I want to pay with a pre-paid VISA as of the new year they won't take it. I think what they want is a credit card that will roll over and let them automatically charge when you're out of minutes. I say this for two reasons. Every time I go back to the account screen, the box is checked for automatically reloading the account and there's no way to un-check that. Second, there's no way to remove my VISA credit card from that account. Most legitimate sites have a payment method screen and the ability to remove any funding source. I called Yahoo voice when my pre-paid VISA card kept being denied and it just seemed like they were uninterested in improving service.

The best part of skype is their subscription plans. USA unlimited at $2.95 monthly, whereas yahoo doesnt have any such thing. I used Yahoo for nearly years but now skype is the best with subscription. And skype can be used through my Nokia Symbian Mobile. I dont have to switch on my laptop to make calls all the time. Just need to connect my mobile to wifi and go. Skype has a callerid feature though which u can choose your own mobile number to be displayed as caller id instaed of +406 or +300 numbers.

The two are both useful and nice but we can't use them anytime, we still need to pay sometimes. I'm using skype but I admit that I'm still using a prepaid for international call

Bought a $10 credit for Yahoo voice. Great call quality calling from S.E.A to North America. Perfectly clear and the other party heard me well. (mobile phone) And cheap 1cent per minute, (although I hear Skype offers a $3.month unlimited calls to US/Canada...)

The call quality was so-so when calling to other countries, but considering how my calls are sometimes dropped, it's a relief I'm not being charged for connection fees on Yahoo. And i often just hang up after talking for 2 minutes because I remembered I had something to do, and call back again a few minutes later, at no extra expenses.

I'd probably stick to Yahoo for now. As far as I know, my siblings all use Skype to call me and their calls are dropped so often they end up calling me 3-4 times. Think about the connection fees!
