Some time back I wrote “PYC Sports Gymkhana Pune stops serving alcohol – Is the focus back on sports?”. The answer is no.
Restaurant sales apparently crashed once PYC stopped selling alcohol. So they have now resumed alcohol sales.
As I stated in my earlier blog, it’s not only incorrect to be serving alcohol at a sports institution, but the long term consequence is that the wrong kind of people land up at the renowned sports body, they soon run for elections, take control of the organization and ensure its ruin by converting it into a socialite club.
It’s sad to see this happen to so many reputed sports bodies 🙁
India anyway doesn’t have a sports oriented society, so we just can’t afford to ruin the few good sports institutions that we do have.
